Last week, it was that time again: Reply Xchange took place in Munich – our annual in-house event for innovation, technology, and business. For us, it is always an important moment to look into the future of e-commerce together with our clients and partners. One thing became clear: the future is no longer a distant vision – it is already being built. For over 15 years, Comsysto Reply has been implementing complex e-commerce solutions for clients across all industries. At the same time, we track and analyze relevant trends in our e-commerce lab to be ready for tomorrow's challenges today. We share our insights here – every Tuesday!

How emotional car buying can work in the digital world
On the main stage, Andrew Baird, Global Head of e-Commerce at Opel/Vauxhall, demonstrated how digital car buying today is not only convenient but also emotional and brand-driven. Together with our colleagues from Infinity Reply DE , an impressive product was created based on realistic digital twins of the vehicles. This makes every single car interactively tangible on smartphone screens!

Auction systems for B2B and B2C
Auction-based business models are more than just a niche topic: they can be a smart solution, especially in the context of marketing surplus stock or high-value products.
At AUDI AG , we at Comsysto Reply GmbH are already successfully using such a system in B2B (to the case study), and at the XChange, Arjya Shankar Mishra and Katarzyna Pajura from Syskoplan Reply DACH a highly scalable SaaS platform that works for both B2B and B2C – fully integrated with SAP systems if required.
Loyalty as a growth driver
Another strong impetus came from Open Reply: In his presentation, Oke Schwiendemonstrated how loyalty programs – using the example of OBI Group Holding – can function as a central component of a well-thought-out B2C strategy. In an environment characterized by price wars, customer retention through such programs is an essential lever.
Silicon Shoring & AI Agents
Two buzzwords that were omnipresent at this year's XChange: Silicon Shoring – an AI-supported approach designed to optimize and automate the entire software development lifecycle – and agentic AI systems. Both will have a major impact on the software platforms of the future, and naturally in e-commerce as well. Silicon Shoring is a valuable starting point here for meeting the enormous cost pressure in the industry.

Our colleague Eugen Sawitzki demonstrated in his presentation how LLM-based agents work in principle and how they are already performing real work in a corporate context today – from customer support to code generation.
Intelligent CRM systems
A concrete example of such an agentic system can be found within the Reply network itself: our CRM! Especially in B2B, the CRM system is often the heart of the e-commerce infrastructure. And that is exactly what we are currently transforming – with AI functionalities that analyze meeting notes, suggest contacts, or automatically link relevant cases from the network. The goal: less searching, more intelligence in the platform.
That’s it for today – and here’s what’s next
Reply XChange has once again shown that the next steps in e-commerce are not just technical, but strategic. Those who invest today will be able to differentiate themselves tomorrow. Do you want to find out if your company is well-equipped for this future? Then this assessment is worth a look!
In our next issue, we will take a closer look at the differences and similarities between B2B and B2C in e-commerce.
See you next week!
